Christopher Morton - Police Officer Fatality - Missouri

Christopher Morton
Police Officer Christopher Morton, age 30, died in the line of duty on March 6, 2018, at a hospital in Henry County, Missouri.

Officer Morton was a member of the Clinton Police Department. He had three years of service as a reserve officer and a full-time officer.

Clinton is the county seat of Henry County, Missouri and has a population of just over 9,000.

After 9:00 p.m., Christopher and two other officers were dispatched to a residence in Clinton due to a 911 hang up call.

When the officers arrived on site, a male subject started firing with a semi-automatic rifle. The officers returned fire and were attempting to enter the house when the shooter wounded all three of them.

Christopher was rushed to a local hospital where, tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.

The shooter barricaded himself inside the house for several hours and then committed suicide.
Michael, Patron Saint of the
Police, pray for Christopher
and for those who have
lost him.

Christopher had attended the University of Central Missouri and served in the Army National Guard.

The members of the Clinton Police Department are in mourning over the death of their young brother. Christopher was a well-liked member of the team. He had a future in law enforcement. He will be forever remembered.

Christopher's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was loved. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Christopher is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his parents and siblings.

Thank you for your service to America and to the community, Christopher.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

God save us from the psychopaths. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Christopher is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
