Shana Tedder - Corrections Officer Fatality - Texas

Shana Tedder
Corrections Officer Shana Tedder, age 41, died in the line of duty on June 9, 2017, at the Christina Melton Crain Unit in Gatesville, Texas.

Officer Tedder was a member of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She had 12 years of service.

In the afternoon, Shana was involved in a struggle with an inmate at the Prison. Shortly thereafter she began to experience shortness of breath and collapsed while walking to a rest area.

Other officers began CPR and medics responded to the facility.

Tragically, Shana died at the scene of a suspected heart attack.

A funding site has been setup to help the family with expenses.

Friends describe Shana as having a kind spirit and a winning smile.

Adrian of Nicomedia, Patron

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is in mourning over the death of their sister. Shana was a knowledgeable and dedicated officer who was always there to support her comrades. She was pleasant, upbeat and had a sense of humor. She will be forever remembered.

Shana's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She did her best. She will be forever mourned.

Shana is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss her.

Thank you for your service to Texas, Shana.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray for all who go to work and who die because of it.

Pray that Shana is in Heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
