Justin Beard - Sheriff's Deputy Fatality - Louisiana

Deputy Sheriff Justin Beard, age 26, died in the line of duty on April 30, 2017, on a roadway south of West Monroe, Louisiana.

Deputy Beard was a member of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office based in Monroe, Louisiana. He had 3 and 1/2 years of service. 

At about 6:00 a.m. Justin was responding to a burglary alarm. He was travelling on Louisiana Highway 34, south of West Monroe. During a severe thunderstorm, his patrol vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. 

Tragically, Justin was mortally injured and died at the scene. 

The circumstances of the accident are under investigation.

The members of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office are in mourning over the death of their young brother. He was a part of their family. He was a well-liked and dedicated officer and a valued member of the team. He will be forever remembered.

Justin's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He had always wanted to be in law enforcement. He loved being a Sheriff's Deputy. He was a good man with a kind spirit. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Justin is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and three children.
