Karen Simek - A victim in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Karen Simek, age 53, died on January 31, 2017, at a food company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

At about 6:00 a.m., Karen was entering her place of employment located on the south side of Milwaukee. Karen had been employed at this company for over 11 years.

For no apparent reason, she was shot after she parked her car and as she entered the building. Co-workers pulled her inside but, tragically, she died of her injuries, at the scene.

Karen had a degree in Home Economics from Mount Mary University and worked as a food technologist. In her free time, she enjoyed needlework, bike riding, hiking, and spending time with her family. Karen enjoyed travelling with her husband in the U.S. and Canada. She supported the Girl Scouts of America and the Guide Dogs for the Blind organization.

The motive for the shooting is unknown. It may have been as a result of some sort of fouled up robbery attempt by an unknown man or men.

Karen's co-workers are in mourning over her death. Karen was a highly valued and well liked member of the company. She will be forever remembered.

Karen's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She did her best. She will be forever mourned.

Karen is survived by many loving friends and family members including her mother, Marie; her siblings Kathy, Michael, Robert and Mary; and her husband, Kevin.

Pray for justice for Karen.

God save us from the thieves and the psychopaths. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Karen is in Heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
