Lisa Mauldin - Corrections Officer Fatality - Texarkana, Arkansas

Corrections Officer Lisa Mauldin, age 47, died in the line of duty on December 19, 2016, at a hospital in Texarkana, Texas.

Officer Mauldin was a member of the Miller County Sheriff's Office based in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Texarkana is city which is divided by the Texas/Arkansas state line.

About 1:00 p.m. on December 18, 2016, Lisa was working at the Miller County Detention Center located in Texarkana, Arkansas.

She and another female corrections officer were in the Center's kitchen when they got into an argument with Tramell Hunter, age 27, an inmate who is serving a 15-year sentence for aggravated robbery and battery.

Tramell Hunter attacked the officers and beat them savagely.

Both women were transferred to hospitals where, tragically, Lisa died of her injuries.

The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division has been called in to investigate the incident.

The members of the Miller County Sheriff's Office are in mourning over the death of their sister. She will be forever remembered.
