Thomas McQueen - Canadian Air Force Fatality

Captain Thomas McQueen, age 29, of Hamilton, Ontario, died in the line of duty on November 28, 2016, near Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada.

Captain McQueen was a member of No. 401 Tactical Fighter Squadron which is a Royal Canadian Air Force squadron based at Cold Lake, Alberta. He had 10 years of service with the Canadian Military. 

After 11:00 a.m., Tom was flying on a routine training mission when, for some unknown reason, his plane crashed on the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range, which straddles the Alberta-Saskatchewan border.

Tragically, Tom died at the scene.  

The cause of the crash is under investigation. 

Friends said that Tom had always wanted to be a pilot even as a kid. He is described as a hard worker and a man who was kind and generous in spirit. 

Tom had flown deployments in eastern Europe and had combat flight time in the Middle East.

All Canadian Air Force personnel are in mourning over the death of their young brother. Tom was energetic, bright and fully dedicated to the service of Canada. He will be forever remembered.

Tom's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was loving and was loved in return. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Tom is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Tom is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
