Scott Dayton - U.S. Navy Fatality - Syria

Scott Dayton
Senior Chief Petty Officer Scott C. Dayton, age 42, of Woodbridge, Virginia, died in the line of duty on November 24, 2016, in Ayn Issa, northern Syria.

Scott died of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Two, which is based in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Scott was serving with Operation Inherent Resolve, which is the U.S. military action against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. 

Scott enlisted in the Navy in 1993 and was a surface warfare specialist until joining the Explosive Ordnance Disposal community in 2002.

Scott's comrades at the Little Creek Base are in mourning over the death of their brother. He was a true patriot and a highly regarded member of his Unit. He will be forever remembered.

Scott's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Scott is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Thank you for your service to America, Scott.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray, without ceasing, unto God for an end to all War. It is enough.

Pray that Scott is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
