Ryan Gloyer - U.S. Military Fatality - Afghanistan

Sgt. 1st Class Ryan A. Gloyer, age 34, of Greenville, Pennsylvania, died in the line of duty on November 3, 2016, in Kunduz, Afghanistan. 

Sgt. 1st Class Gloyer was assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Carson, Colorado.

Ryan was participating in Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, which is the U.S. military's support of allies against terrorists in Afghanistan.

Ryan was working with Afghan troops who were attempting to clear a Taliban position. He was wounded by enemy forces. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries. 

Ryan was originally from Denton, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Thiel College in Greenville in 2004.  

He also joined the military in late 2004. He served three tours of duty in Afghanistan and one tour in the Congo.

Angels of God, pray for Ryan and for those
who have lost him.
Purple Heart, two Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Parachutist Badge, the Ranger tab and the Special Forces tab.

Ryan's comrades at Fort Carson are in mourning over the death of their brother. He was a patriot and a hero. He will be forever remembered.

Ryan's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was one of the good guys. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Ryan is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him. 

Thank you for your service to America, Ryan.

Pray for all who die while far away from their loved ones.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray, without ceasing, unto God for an end to all War. It is enough.

Pray that Ryan is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
