Cody Donahue
Trooper Cody Donahue, age 34, of Parker, Colorado, died in the line of duty on November 25, 2016.

Trooper Donahue was a member of the Colorado State Patrol. He had 11 years of service.

Around 2:00 p.m., Cody was investigating a minor traffic accident on a highway near Castle Rock. He was standing outside of his patrol car with another trooper when he was struck down by a truck. He was wearing a reflective vest at the time of the accident.

The driver of the commercial truck is facing charges relating to careless driving resulting in death.

Tragically, Cody, died at the scene.

Our advice to all drivers:  When you see an emergency vehicle (Police, Fire or Ambulance) pulled over to the side of a city street or a rural highway - wake up, slow down and watch what you're doing. These vehicles have pulled over for a reason. People's lives are at stake.

A funding site has been set up to help the family with expenses.

Cody grew up in North Dakota before moving to Colorado. He loved outdoor activities - ATV's, snowmobiling and water skiing.
