Steve Owen - Law Enforcement Fatality - Los Angeles County, California

Steve Owen
Sergeant Steve Owen, age 53, died in the line of duty on October 5, 2016, at a hospital in Lancaster, California.

Sergeant Owen was a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He had 29 years of service.

Just after noon, Steve and other Deputies were responding to a call that a burglary was in progress at an apartment building in Lancaster. Lancaster is about 70 miles north of Los Angeles.

He was checking the rear of the building when a male emerged and opened fire, striking Steve. It has been reported that the subject then stood over Steve shooting him numerous times.

The suspect attempted to steal Steve's patrol car but crashed into another patrol car which was attempting to block his escape.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and into a nearby home where he held two teenagers hostage for several hours. He was arrested at the scene.

The name of the shooter has been reported as Trenton Lovell, age 27, who has a long prior history of arrests. He has a rap sheet like Judas.

Trenton Lovell is innocent unless proven guilty.
Michael, Patron Saint of the
Police, pray for Steve and
for those who have lost him.

However, to the thief who killed Steve Owen, we ask this question: What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is in mourning over the death of their brother. Police Officials describe Steve as a brave man and a hero. He was a role model to other Deputies. Steve was awarded the Meritorious Conduct Medal in 2014. He will be forever remembered.

Friends stated that Steve always had a smile for everybody and was helpful and caring of others. He stood up for minority groups. He was one of the good guys.

Steve's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was loving and was loved in return. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Steve is survived by many loving friends and family members including his mother, his wife and his adult children.

Pray for justice for Steve.

Thank you for your service to the community, Steve.

God save us from the psychopaths. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Steve is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
