The Greed of Drug Companies

Epipen is a spring-loaded needle device that injects the drug Epinephrine into the human body.

Epinephrine is used to combat severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) to insect stings or bites, foods, drugs, and other allergens. Epinephrine is also used to treat exercise-induced anaphylaxis.

This drug is classed as a unique "life and death" type of drug that is needed immediately by those suffering from allergic shock.

Many people who rely on this medication have multiple Epipens - in their pocket, in their gym bag, in their purse, in the glove compartment of their car, and elsewhere, so that the medication will always be available in times of dire emergency.

They have these Epipens in numerous locations if they can afford it.

A two-pack of Epipens used to cost $100 in America. In recent months a two-pack of Epipens has risen to more than $600.

Many people in need of this drug will now no longer be able to afford it and therefore are at risk of sudden death. Many times the people most in need of Epipens are children or teenagers.

Many drug companies state that their prices for drugs are based on the cost of research and development, when we know for a fact that these companies buyout patents for drugs that are already researched and developed and then jack up the price simply because they can. It's all about the money.

Meet the Chairman of the Board of a typical pharmaceutical company in our world:

Pay Up - this is all for Research and Development.

To the drug companies driven by profit motives alone, we ask this question: What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?

God save us from Corporate Greed. Amen
