Kaitlyn Hansen - a victim of alleged drunk driving in Minnesota

Kaitlyn Hansen, age 16, of Canton, Minnesota, died on January 28, 2016, on a highway in Fillmore County, Minnesota.
Kaitlyn Hansen

During the evening, Kaitlyn was driving on Highway 52 between Fountain, Minnesota and Chatfield, Minnesota. Just before 9:00 p.m., she was struck by a pickup truck that crossed the center line and hit her car head on.

Tragically, Kaitlyn died at the scene.

The pickup truck went into the ditch and rolled. The female driver was thrown from the vehicle. She was airlifted to a hospital in Rochester, with relatively minor injuries. The driver is Cindy Mueske, age 55, from Ashland, Illinois, who allegedly tested positive for alcohol.

This tragic accident is under investigation.

Cindy Mueske is innocent of any crime unless proven guilty.

However we offer this advice to all drivers: If you find that you are wasted, drunk or doped up on street drugs or prescription drugs or if you are falling asleep on your feet, do NOT drive. Call a family member or a friend for a ride; or take a taxi or a bus; or stay where you are until you sober up; or crawl home on your hands and knees. It will be better for you and for the world if you do.

Regret can last a lifetime.

Kaitlyn was a junior at Fillmore Central High School in Harmony, Minnesota.  Her classmates are in mourning over the death of their friend.

Angels of God, pray for Kaitlyn
and for those who have lost her.
Kaitlyn's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She had her whole life ahead of her. She did her best. She will be forever mourned.

Kaitlyn is survived by many loving family members and friends who will forever miss her.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray for justice for Kaitlyn.

Pray for all who die young. They barely had a chance to live.

Pray for Kaitlyn's loved ones who have suffered an unspeakable loss.

God save us from the drunk and the doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Kaitlyn is in Heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
