Marsha Johnson - the victim of a thief in Covington, Georgia

Marsha Johnson
Marsha Johnson, age 65, died on November 16, 2015, at a hospital in Covington, Georgia.

Covington is a city located about 35 miles southeast of Atlanta.

Just before 8:00 p.m., Marsha was at a Walmart and was loading her purchases into her car. A man in another car was observed watching her. He pulled into a parking space right beside Marsha's car.

The man grabbed Marsha's purse and threw her to the ground. He tried to flee the scene and in doing so, ran over Marsha at least four times in the process of trying to get his vehicle out of the parking spot.

A male Good Samaritan tried to ram his vehicle into the thief's vehicle but the thief was still able to drive away.

Marsha was rushed to a nearby hospital where, tragically, she died of her injuries.

The thief is described as a Hispanic male with a very heavy build and a goatee type beard. He was driving a 1990's light colored Honda Accord. A woman was in the passenger seat of his car.
