Kay Brown - a Good Samaritan in New York City

On November 16, 2015, Kay Brown, age 26, got on a train in Manhattan after her work day was over.

Kay Brown
A homeless woman got on the train as well. She was wearing a light jacket and a thin shirt.  She had no shoes or socks and was totally barefoot in the chilly weather. She appeared to be mentally handicapped.

Kay asked the woman what size shoes she wore. The woman's shoe size and Kay's shoe size matched. Kay took off her boots and gave them to the homeless woman.

The homeless woman said:  "Are you sure?" Kay described the woman as gracious. The woman bent down crying while putting on her new footwear.

People on the train were very impressed by Kay's act of generosity and selflessness.

The Good Samaritan comes to
the aid of strangers, selflessly.
Meanwhile, Kay was left standing in her socks and had to walk six blocks to her home. A male train passenger gave Kay an extra pair of heavier gym socks to put on top of her own thin socks.

Kay stated: "What is six blocks when somebody has been living, God knows how long, without anything on their feet?

Kay also stated: "This is something so small but the response has been so large. With all the stuff that's happening in the world right now, seeing the smile on that woman's face was the best."

Kay is a Good Samaritan.

God bless Kay and all who come to the aid of strangers in distress. Amen.

Pray for the unnamed woman who is lost in "the System".

Pray that she is found and that she receives help and shelter. Amen.
