Devon Doyle - An American sailor died by accident in Bahrain

Devon Doyle
Petty Officer 3rd Class Devon J. Doyle, age 21, of Alamosa, Colorado, died on May 16, 2015, in Manama, Bahrain.

He was assigned to the Florida based destroyer, USS Farragut, homeported in Mayport, Florida. The Farragut was on duty in the Persian Gulf as part of the American campaign against Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria.

Devon was on liberty (leave) when he fell from a hotel balcony and suffered severe head trauma. Tragically he passed away from his injuries.

Devon was a graduate of Alamosa High School. He was an avid outdoorsman.

was an outstanding shipmate and a fine sailor who was well respected by his peers. He will be forever remembered.


Friends describe him as a good kid who was just starting out in life. He will be forever missed.

Devon's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Devon is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his parents Brian and Leslie Doyle, and three sisters.

Pray for all who die young. They barely had a chance to live.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Devon is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
