Kristi Clark and her son, Carter - Good Samaritans died in Tennessee

Kristi Clark, age 34, of Franklin, Tennessee, and her son, Carter Oakley, age 10, died on February 16, 2015.

Kristi was heading to the grocery store at about 9:00 p.m. when she came across a road accident on an interstate about 20 miles south of Nashville. An SUV had overturned on the icy roadway.

Kristi stopped to see if she could be of assistance. As she and her son, Carter, approached the vehicle, a tractor-trailer swerved into them.

Carter died at the scene of the collision. Kristi was rushed to a hospital in Franklin where she passed away a short time later.

The five persons in the overturned SUV all survived.

It is unknown if charges will be brought against the tractor-trailer driver.

Family members stated that Kristi had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others. It's just what she did. She was looked up to by her siblings. She was deeply devoted to her children. She was very independent, determined, loving and quick-witted.

Carter was in the fourth grade at Oak View Elementary School. He is described as an

exceptional boy who stood out. He was a hard worker and a good kid.

Kristi and Carter's loved ones are devastated over their sudden and tragic deaths. Kristi and Carter will be forever mourned.

Kristi and Carter are survived by many loving friends and family members including but not limited to Kristi's father, Brad Lewis; Kristi's husband, John Clark; and a 4 year old daughter and sister to Carter, Adelyn.

Pray for all who die while coming to the aid of others. They are Good Samaritans and are the real heroes of the modern era.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Kristi and Carter are in heaven. Pray that they are at peace and are with God. Amen.
