Robert Christman - a teen victim of a robbery in St. Louis, Missouri

Robert Christman
Robert Christman, age 19, died on January 11, 2015, at a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Robert was known as Bobby to his family and friends.

He had been out with his brother and a female friend in the Washington Avenue restaurant and entertainment area. At about 12:45 a.m., all three were sitting in their vehicle in a parking lot. The female passenger, also age 19, was in the rear seat.

Another vehicle pulled up beside them and a man with a handgun got out and opened the rear door of the car Robert was in, and tried to grab the woman's purse. She resisted and Robert said something to the gunman who opened fire striking Robert in the head.

The gunman jumped back in his own vehicle and fled the scene. It is believed that two other men were in the vehicle with him. The vehicle they were driving had been carjacked in downtown St. Louis the week previous.

Robert was rushed to a local hospital but tragically passed away later that day.

The police tracked the car to the Washington Park area of the City. Shots were exchanged between the occupants and the police but the suspects were able to ditch the car and escape.

If you have any information about this crime you are urged to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477.

Robert graduated from DeSmet Jesuit High School in 2013. In high school he had
played rugby and wrestled. Currently, he was a sophomore at Southeast Missouri State University and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He had plans of joining the military.

Friends stated that Robert was a good kid who worked very hard at everything he did.
Angels of God, pray for Bobby and for those
who have lost him
He succeeded academically and athletically. He loved his family. He was uptempo, outgoing and popular. He would do anything for anyone who needed his help.

Robert's loved ones are devastated over his senseless and tragic death. He is their hero. He will be forever mourned.

We put this question to the thief who killed Bobby: What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?

Robert is survived by many loving friends and family members including his parents, Robert Christman II and Dawn Christman; and his brothers, Sean and Sydney.

Pray for justice for Robert.

God save us from the thieves. They are killing us, Father.

Pray that Robert is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
