Gordon Schaffer - a victim of robbery in Columbia, Tennessee

Gordon Schaffer, age 22, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, died on October 20, 2014, in Columbia, Tennessee.

Gordon Schaffer
Gordon was a manager at a Papa John's Restaurant.  He was known as Gordo to his family and friends.

Just before 10:00 p.m., two black males entered the restaurant and demanded cash.  No one else was in the restaurant at the time.  They held a handgun to Gordon's back.

Gordon opened the register and emptied it, dumping all of the cash into a plastic bag as demanded. He didn't resist, which is what everyone is told to do when confronted with armed robbers.

The two robbers walked to the door and one of them turned around and shot Gordon multiple times for no reason. They already had the cash they wanted.

Gordon was airlifted to a hospital in Nashville.  Tragically, he died on the way there.

The getaway vehicle could be a black mid 2000's four door car or a red SUV.  If you

Friends stated that he was working multiple jobs to save money. He didn't know what he wanted to do as a permanent job.  He was thinking about moving to Colorado to work on a ranch or going on a road trip from coast to coast. He was undecided but he was a hard worker.

Friends also describe him as a good kid who was just starting out in life. He will be forever missed.

Gordon is survived by many loving friends and family members.

Oceans of tears will be shed for this young man.

Pray for justice for Gordon.

Pray for all who go to work and who die there.

God save us from the thieves. They are killing us, Father.

Pray that Gordon is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
