Danny Oliver and Michael Davis Jr. - Law Enforcement Officers - killed in California

Deputy Sheriff Danny Oliver, age 47, died on October 24, 2014, in Sacramento, California.

He was a member of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.  He had 15 years of service. 

At about 10:30 a.m., Danny and another deputy were investigating a suspicious vehicle in a motel parking lot.  As they approached the vehicle a male inside the vehicle opened fire with a rifle, striking Deputy Oliver in the forehead. 

The male occupant of the vehicle fled the scene with a woman inside the vehicle. These two then shot an innocent civilian, Anthony Holmes, age 38, when they attempted to hijack a vehicle. They also hijacked two other cars and continued to try desperately to escape. 

They came to a stop on a local highway. They were spotted by Detective Michael Davis and his partner.  The officers approached the vehicle and both were shot. Michael Davis, age 43, was rushed to a local hospital where sadly he succumbed to his injuries. 

Michael was a member of the Placer County Sheriff's Department.  He had 15 years of service.

crimes. Marcelo Marquez, age 34, from Salt Lake City, is in custody. So is his wife/girlfriend, Jannelle Monroy, age 38. 

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is in mourning over the death of their brother, Danny. He was an outstanding officer. He had a good soul and was passionate about doing the right thing as a police officer. He tried to improve the lives of the citizens in his jurisdiction.  He will be forever remembered. 

The Placer County Sheriff's Department is in mourning over the death of their comrade.  Michael is described as a good man who did his best.  He will be forever remembered.

Danny and Michael's loved ones are devastated over their sudden and tragic deaths. Oceans of tears will be shed for these men.  They will be forever mourned. 

Danny is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and two daughters. 

Michael is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and four children. 

Thank you for your service to the community, Danny and Michael.  

Pray for justice for these two officers. 

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

God save us from the Psychopaths who bring death to strangers.  They are killing us, Father.
