Geniel Amaro-Fantauzzi - Law Enforcement - Puerto Rico

Agent Geniel Amaro-Fantauzzi, age 35, died in the line of duty on August 25, 2014, at a hospital in Rio Piedras, San Juan, Puerto Rico. 

Geniel was a member of the Puerto Rico Police Department.  He had many years of service.

Agent Amaro-Fantauzzi and several other officers were conducting a narcotics investigation on August 19, 2014, in Las Piedras. They were at a public housing complex when a man opened fire, wounding Agent Amaro-Fantauzzi and another agent.

The man who shot them was arrested and charged with five counts of attempted murder in addition to other charges.

Agent Amaro-Fantauzzi was transported to Rio Piedras Medical Center, where he remained on life support until succumbing to his wounds.

The Puerto Rico Police Department is in mourning over the death of their brother. Geniel is described as a warrior who will be

Geniel's loved ones are devastated over his senseless and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

Geniel is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members.

God save us from the Lost Ones who bring death to strangers. They are killing us, Father.

Pray that Geniel is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
