The Stone Faced Good Samaritan in Ottawa, Canada

Stephanie Headley
Stephanie Headley, age 48, of Kanata, a suburb of Ottawa, Ontario, is suffering from scleroderma.

Scleroderma is an auto-immune disease that hardens your skin, internal organs and blood vessels.  The disease leads to heart failure. She has had the disease for 12 years and her health is failing. Currently her lungs are working at only 48 percent capacity and she is on oxygen.

Stephanie is a single mother of four children.

A doctor in Chicago can perform stem cell treatments that can greatly extend Stephanie's life and her quality of life.  However, the treatments cost about $125,000. (in Canadian funds).

Stephanie's family haven't the money to pay for these treatments.  They also need funds to pay for medicine and a careperson's living expenses. The family started two fundraising internet pages and raised less than $12,000.

On July 3, 2014, a man phoned Stephanie's home saying he wanted to contribute and

of strangers, selflessly.
that he was bringing a bank draft.

Soon after, a man showed up at the door. He was wearing mirrored sun glasses, a hat and a jacket zipped all the way up to his neck.  He was tall and slim.

Stephanie describes him as completely stone-faced.  He handed her an envelope.  She handed him a thank you card that she had prepared beforehand.  As he turned to go, she said "God bless you", and he smiled and left.

When Stephanie opened the envelope she found a bank draft for $128,000. (in Canadian funds).  The bank confirmed that the bank draft is genuine.

Stephanie collapsed with the shock.  The impact of this gift from a stranger is life altering for both her and her family.

She will be forever grateful.

The stone-faced man in the sunglasses is a Good Samaritan.

He doesn't seek notoriety or praise for his generosity.  In fact he has gone out of his way to maintain his anonymity.

God bless this man and all who come to the aid of strangers. They are the true heroes of our era.

God knows we need more men like him in this World.
