Blake Pryor - A Good Samaritan in Round Rock, Texas

Blake Pryor and his
friend, Maddy
Blake Pryor, age 21, is a Good Samaritan in Round Rock, Texas.

Round Rock is a part of the metropolitan area of Austin.

On July 17, 2014, Blake was driving across a bridge structure when he saw what he thought was a woman who was intending to jump. This structure is 100 feet high. This is equivalent to the height of an 8 storey building. If she had jumped, she would have died.

Blake approached the woman, grabbed her and gave her a hug. He told her "It's not worth it." He held her back and offered to talk to her as long as she wanted. She had told him that no one cared about her.

The Police arrived at the scene and credit Blake with saving the woman's life.

Blake is a modern day hero. Many people would have sped by, oblivious to the potential tragedy that was unfolding at the side of the road. Many of us only see what affects us and not what affects others.

Blake graduated from Georgetown High School in 2011. He is currently attending

Tarleton State University and is majoring in criminal justice. He intends on enrolling in a police academy close to home upon graduation.

Blake has already proven that he has the motivation and the ethics to be a police officer if he pursues this career path. Despite being only 21 years old, he acted in a mature fashion, stepped up to the plate and averted a tragedy.

Blake stated that his parents always taught him to help others. Especially those in distress.

God bless Blake and all who come to the aid of strangers.

They are the true heroes of our era.

God knows we need more men like him in this World.

Pray for the woman who was suicidal. God give her peace. Amen.
