Brendan Tevlin - a 19 year old murder victim in New Jersey

Brendan Tevlin, age 19, of Livingston, New Jersey, died on June 25, 2014, in West Orange, New Jersey.

Brendan had been playing video games at a friend's house. He had texted his mother to say that he was on his way home. 


He was found deceased in his vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment building. He had been shot several times, in what police believe was a targeted and not a random shooting. But the motive has not been established as of this posting. 

Two young males were observed on surveillance videos running from the area of the shooting. But it has not been determined if they were participants in the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to call the prosecutor's tip line (877) 847-7432. There is a $10,000. reward for information leading to the conviction of the murderer(s).

Brendan was a 2013 graduate of Seton Hall Prep School. He had just completed his freshman year at the University of Richmond. He planned on majoring in business.

He was an achiever and throughout his academic career he had participated in many

extra-curricular activities including playing lacrosse and working on the student council. He was a member of numerous clubs and community service groups. He had played the bagpipes with a band. He had maintained a Grade Point Average of over 4.0 during his years at Seton Hall Prep.

Friends describe Brendan as a leader and one of the nicest kids you could ever want to meet. He was a good kid with no enemies. He was even-tempered and avoided controversy. He wasn't a trouble-maker. He will be forever remembered.

Seton Hall school officials describe Brendan as a wonderful young man who was friendly to everyone and who was well liked in return.

Brendan's family are devastated over his tragic and senseless death. He will be forever mourned.

Brendan is survived by many loving friends and family members including his parents, Michael and Allison Tevlin; his sister, Michaela; and his brothers, Brian and Sean.

Pray for justice for Brendan.

God save us from the Lost Ones who bring death to strangers. They are killing us, Father. 

Pray that Brendan is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
