Frank Guinn - Firefighter - Atlanta, Georgia

Frank Guinn
Sgt. Frank Guinn, age 36, died on April 11, 2014, on a street in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Frank was a member of the Atlanta Fire Department. He was stationed at Fire Station 21. He had 9 years of service.

Frank was off-duty and was in New Orleans with his brother-in-law. The men were intending to participate in an Ironman competition being held on Sunday, April 13, 2014.

At about 10:15 a.m. on April 11, Frank and his brother-in-law, Andrew Powell, were bicycling as part of their training for the competition. A vehicle travelling behind them rammed into the cyclists. The cause of the accident is not known as of this posting.

Frank died at the scene. His brother-in-law was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

The Atlanta Fire Department is in mourning over the death of their brother.

His family is devastated by his sudden and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

loved by everyone. He always had a smile on his face and kept a positive attitude. He was a devoted family man.

Frank came from Haynesville, a small town in north Louisiana. He had attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Frank and his wife, Kim, were married in 1997 and eventually moved to Atlanta, where she worked as a teacher and he took a job as an EMT and a firefighter. Frank and his wife shared a passion for running, marathons and racing.

Frank is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members, including his wife Kimberly; and his 7 year old triplet daughters.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next.

Pray that Frank is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

It always sad to lose someone, but especially sad when that person served the community. You are gone from this earth but you will never be forgotten. My heart and prayers go out to your family friends, fellow firefighters and all those you served.
