Brittney Mouzon, age 20, of Maywood, who was with Monica and Briana in the vehicle was injured.
Miguel Rico

Briana Resto was driving a 2001 Ford on the Eisenhower Expressway near Harlem Avenue at about 2:00 a.m.

Miguel Rico, age 20, of Chicago, was driving a 2005 Dodge minivan and entered the expressway in the wrong lane and going against oncoming traffic.

Briana tried to swerve out of the way of the oncoming minivan, but Miguel Rico also swerved in the same direction and crashed into the vehicle that the 3 young women were in.

He was not seriously injured and neither was his 20 year old male passenger.

Miguel Rico was wanted on a warrant. In 2011, he violated his probation in a drug possession case.

It is believed that Miguel Rico was drunk or doped up at the time of the collision. He is being held on the probation violation charge and is also charged with aggravated driving under the influence.

The three young women were co-workers at a Bakers Square restaurant in Melrose

Park.

The families of Monica and Briana are devastated by this tragedy and are adamant that Miguel Rico should be charged with something more serious than driving while intoxicated.

Both Monica and Briana are described as sweet young girls who were just starting out in life. They were loving and were loved.

They both had attended Triton Community College. Briana was considering a career in law enforcement. Monica was scheduled to start a new job as an administrative assistant.

Monica and Briana are survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Pray for justice for Monica and Briana. Amen.

Pray for Brittney Mouzon who lost her friends in front of her eyes. Amen.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next. Amen.

God save us from the drunk and doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Monica and Briana are in heaven. Pray that they are at peace and are with God. Amen.
