Braylee Rice - Bullied to Death in Indiana

Braylee Rice, age 14, died on May 6, 2013, in a schoolyard in Marion, Indiana.

Braylee left class at 8:45 a.m., and was found at 10:17 a.m. She had hung herself from the bleachers of McCulloch Junior High School.

Braylee is described as well liked in some circles and an honour student. She always had a smile on her face and always gave hugs.

Family members stated that she was suffering from depression and had suicidal thoughts. They state that the School was aware of this but didn't help her.

Friends and family have stated that they believe Braylee was also bullied. It is alleged that some kids told her to go kill herself. Unconfirmed reports state that other students threw water bottles at her and called her dirty names.

Braylee often dressed as a Goth - the chains, leather, and black clothes. She came to school on the day of her death with a piece of paper taped over her mouth with a smiley face drawn on the tape.

School administrators say they are unaware of any bullying. And that the cause of Braylee's suicide does not appear to be bullying at all.

Many others stated that bullying is prevalent in the school.

Of the numerous bullying suicides that have been mentioned on this blog, we have NEVER witnessed the school of the deceased admitting that any bullying exists. This is because the Administrators and School Boards fear for their jobs, if it is acknowledged that bullying has been allowed in their schools. They also fear lawsuits for damages due to negligence.

Whatever the reason for Baylee's depression, she didn't need further harassment.
Angels of God, pray for
Braylee

No school is responsible for the happiness of its students.  But students throwing water bottles at someone and telling them to die?  Does nobody notice this and speak up?

Parents in Indiana - where are your snot-nosed, smart-assed, big-mouthed nasty Indiana brats? And what are they doing? Do you not even know what your kids are doing when they are in middle school?  Do you care?

Pray for all who are driven, for whatever reason, to suicide. Amen.

Let us pray that Braylee is in heaven. Let us pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Sue the JL McCulloch Jr HS administration starting with Marion Community Schools Superintendent Steve Edwards and erect a statute of Braylee Rice and condemn bullying. Please write the story of Braylee and I will include as a chapter in my book "Absolutely! Positively! For Sure!" exposing rampant bullying in the public schools of Marion. The book will donate to a
statute of Braylee Rice. Please name names. Bill Hewitt telephone 765 293-4057 email Billy@isp.com
