Jeffrey Schobert, age 56, and Margaret (Peg) Schobert, age 59, died on April 1 or 2, 2013, at their home in New Franklin, Ohio.

They had been bludgeoned to death with a sledgehammer in the bedroom of their home.

On March 23, 2013, their adopted daughter, Chelsea, age 18, had been stabbed and had suffered a skull fracture during an altercation at a house in Akron, Ohio. On social media sites she stated that she had trouble with bad boyfriends and that she recently had gone through a break-up.

Jamayne Ruiz, age 24, was arrested in connection with that attack.

Jeffrey Schobert was a prominent and well-liked health-care attorney in Akron. He had carried out mock trials for students at Archbishop Hoban High School, which his two daughters had attended.

He was also named one of the state's 'Super Lawyers' from 2005 to 2011 and has been on a list of 'Best Lawyers in America' since 2006.

The couple were well-known in the community and active in community affairs.

Peg Schobert was involved with charities, including the Rotary, Interval Brotherhood Home and Junior League.

Shawn Eric Ford Jr., age 18, the boyfriend of Chelsea, has been arrested in connection with these murders.

Money and a vehicle were also missing from the victims' home.
Shawn Ford Jr.
Shawn Ford has another case against him after pleading guilty last month to felony robbery. He had been freed on bond and was scheduled to appear in court on April 15.

He has now been charged with two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated burglary and grand theft in connection with the slayings.

Jeffrey and Peg are survived by many loving friends and relatives including Chelsea and another daughter.

God save us from the Lost Ones who stalk the Earth stealing away life. Amen.

Let us pray that Jeffrey and Peg are in heaven. Let us pray that they are at peace and are with God. Amen.
